Solar Calendar
This calendar is based on the movements of earth around the sun, very similar to the Christian calendar with the slight difference of its beginning. Here the beginning is the migration of the Holy prophet of Islam from Makkah to Madina. This calendar is also referred to as the Iranian calendar. The calendar begins with the Month of Farvardin and finishes with the month of Esfand.
Lunar Calendar
This calendar is based on the movements of the moon around the earth, and centered on astronomical calculations. However the actual beginning of each month is based on the moons visibility by the naked eye. Here the beginning is the migration of the Holy prophet of Islam from Makkah to Madina. This calendar is also referred to as the Islamic calendar. The calendar begins with the Month of Moharram and finishes with the month of Zilhaj.
Christian Calendar
This calendar is based on the movements of earth around the sun, very similar to the solar calendar with the slight difference of its beginning. Here the beginning is the birth of Holy prophet of Isa (p.u.h). This calendar is also referred to as the Gregorian calendar. The calendar begins with the Month of January and finishes with the month of December.
